Tata Super App is all set to make his debut on app stores, and then to your devices on April 7. The Tata Group is all set to unveil its much awaited ‘super app,’ called TataNeu, to the consumers on April 7. The company has reveled this news on its app and Play Store page. The announcement was made through a teaser image on the app’s Google Play Store page.
The Group began publicly advertising the super app for the first time along with the ongoing Indian Premier League tournament. So far, the app has been allowed for use only for the Tata Group employees.
The app congregates several of Tata Group services including some such as online grocer BigBasket and e-pharmacy platform 1Mg that the firm has acquired in recent years.
TataNeu will also offer users the ability to send people money and pay broadband, electricity, water and satellite TV bills and secure loans.
Tata Super App Ready for Launch – What does it do?
TataNeu is readying to challenge its market rivals including American e-commerce group Amazon and local billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Jio Platforms that have accomplished to new heights in the past decade while Tata focused on more legacy businesses.
The firm, which has been testing TataNeu with tens of thousands of its employees for several quarters, plans to eventually phase out different group unit loyalty offerings by BigBasket, 1mg and other services and replace them with NeuCoins.
A country or a region becomes super app-ready when a large base of its population is smartphone first instead of desktop, and the ecosystem of apps customised to local needs is not evolved. India has already become a market where a majority of those experiencing the internet for the first time are making transactions on their mobile phones.
This is one of the main reasons why Indian companies are looking at building super apps. Apart from increased revenue realisation due to consolidation of services at one place.
