The ceremonial commencement of the National Cadet Corps, NCC Republic Day Camp 2024 took place at the esteemed Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt, marked by the Sarva Dharma Puja on December 30, 2023.
This year, the month-long camp boasts an impressive participation of 2,274 cadets hailing from all 28 States and eight Union Territories, making it a vibrant melting pot of diversity and national representation.
What sets this year’s camp apart is the remarkable inclusion of 907 girls, signifying the largest-ever turnout of female cadets. Among this diverse cohort, 122 cadets representing Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and 171 from the North-Eastern Region stand shoulder to shoulder, portraying a miniature yet compelling reflection of ‘Mini India’.
Global Collaboration: 25 Nations Join NCC Republic Day Camp 2024
Expanding its horizons globally, the Youth Exchange Programme integrated cadets and officers from 25 friendly nations, including Argentina, Botswana, Bhutan, Brazil, Czech Republic, Fiji, and more. This international collaboration fosters cultural exchange and mutual understanding among youth on a global scale.
Addressing the cadets, DG NCC Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh urged them to immerse themselves wholeheartedly in the camp’s activities. Emphasizing the values of Character, Integrity, Selfless Service, comradeship, and teamwork, he called upon the cadets to transcend boundaries of religion, language, and caste for the nation’s greater good.
Beyond the ceremonial aspects, the Republic Day Camp stands as a cornerstone in cultivating patriotism, discipline, and leadership qualities among the participating cadets. This annual gathering serves as a catalyst for their holistic development, offering avenues for training, cultural engagement, and active involvement in social service initiatives. It encapsulates the spirit of unity and national pride, nurturing future leaders dedicated to the service of the nation.
