New Delhi, September 5, 2025: Google’s Pixel 10 has officially landed in India, and while its ₹74,999 price tag remains unchanged from last year’s model, its ambitions have clearly shifted. With a fresh dose of on-device AI courtesy of the all-new Tensor G5 chip and deeper Gemini integration, the Pixel 10 isn’t just another Android flagship, it’s Google’s boldest AI experiment in your pocket.
But is a smarter phone automatically a better phone?
Familiar Design, Subtle Refinements
Visually, the Pixel 10 sticks closely to its predecessor’s DNA, clean lines, aluminum frame, and that unmistakable horizontal camera visor. But eagle, eyed users will spot a key difference: there’s now a third camera on the back.
Despite retaining Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, the glossy back feels slippery and slightly heavier in hand. A matte finish might’ve improved grip, but overall, the design still feels premium and recognizably “Pixel.”
Pixel 10 features that you need to know
The Pixel 10 offers a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, but unlike some competitors, the refresh isn’t adaptive, you’ll have to choose between 60Hz or 120Hz manually.
That said, its peak brightness of 3,000 nits makes it comfortably visible in India’s harsh sunlight, and support for HDR10+ keeps streaming crisp. However, thick bezels and lack of LTPO tech keep it from feeling truly “next-gen.”
Tensor G5: Smart, But Not the Fastest
Google’s new Tensor G5 chipset, manufactured on TSMC’s 3nm process, delivers a noticeable boost over last year’s G4. But while it’s good enough for daily tasks and smooth multitasking with 12GB RAM, it still lags behind the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and Apple’s A18 in raw benchmarks.
That’s intentional, Google isn’t chasing speed anymore. Instead, Tensor G5 is designed around on-device AI, enabling features like real-time transcription, context-aware call assistance, and generative photo editing.
So, if you’re looking for gaming power, this may not be your best bet. But if AI is your jam, Pixel 10 is one of the most advanced options available.
Cameras: Three Lenses, Mixed Feelings
The new triple-camera setup includes:
- 48MP main sensor with OIS
- 13MP ultrawide (down from 48MP)
- 10.8MP telephoto lens (new)
In daylight, photos are crisp with excellent detail and color accuracy, the signature Pixel touch. But in low light, it struggles to match expectations. The new telephoto lens adds versatility, but zoom quality doesn’t quite match rivals like Samsung’s Galaxy S25 or the iPhone 16 Pro.
While the hardware is competent, much of the magic still comes from computational photography—and Google’s AI remains among the best at it.
Gemini AI Integration: Where Pixel 10 Shines
Pixel 10 ships with Android 16 and offers the most advanced on-device AI suite we’ve seen yet. Here’s what stands out:
- Gemini Live: Real-time camera-based object recognition and summarization
- Magic Cue: Call assistance that surfaces relevant info while you’re talking
- Photo Coach: Voice-guided suggestions while taking shots
- Conversational Edit: AI-powered voice editing of photos
Many features remain region-locked (primarily U.S.-exclusive), but the rollout is expected globally over time, including on previous-gen Pixels.
Battery Life: Still Needs Work
Despite housing a larger 4,970mAh battery, the Pixel 10 delivered around 12 hours of average use and 5 hours of screen-on time during our tests.
Charging remains at a modest 30W, and there’s no charger in the box, par for the course these days, but still frustrating.
In short, battery life is acceptable but unremarkable. Power users may find themselves reaching for the charger before day’s end.
A Smarter Pixel, But Still Not Perfect

The Pixel 10 is a clear signal of Google’s priorities. Rather than leading the specs race, it’s investing in AI as a utility, offering users real-world smarts over synthetic benchmarks.
If you’re excited about Google’s Gemini-powered future, the Pixel 10 is a compelling gateway. But for those seeking raw performance, superior battery life, or best-in-class cameras, there are better-rounded options out there.
Still, it’s a refreshing take on what a smartphone can be, and perhaps a glimpse into the future of AI-first devices.
