Born on April 6, 1956, in Pattiam, Kannur, Sreenivasan became a beloved figure for his ability to mix humor with social commentary. Over nearly 50 years, actor sreenivasan appeared in more than 225 films and wrote unforgettable screenplays including Nadodikattu, Thalayanamanthram, and Sandesham.

His directorial works, Vadakkunokkiyanthram and Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala, earned both critical praise and audience admiration. Throughout his career, he received multiple accolades, including a National Film Award and six Kerala State Film Awards.
He is survived by his wife, Vimala Sreenivasan, and sons, Vineeth and Dhyan Sreenivasan. The cremation is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at his residence in Kandanadu, near Thripunitura.
