October 31, 2026: The final stretch of October brought a distinct shift in India’s venture capital activity. Capital deployments shrank year-over-year and week-over-week, but Indian startups transaction velocity hit a noticeable high.
Between October 26 and October 30, Indian startups secured $130.2 million across 32 transactions. While total capital raised fell 29.2% from the previous week’s $184 million, deal volume jumped 88% from just 17 deals a week earlier.
Investors clearly preferred spreading smaller checks across early-stage rounds over underwriting mega-deals.
Consumer-facing digital commerce and foundational artificial intelligence tools captured the bulk of investor interest this week.
Ecommerce led sectoral charts with nine deals bringing in $33.4 million. D2C brands drove the haul, led by functional food brand Troovy ($10.5 million Series B) and sports nutrition venture Ace Blend ($9.9 million Series A). Together, these two deals accounted for 61% of the sector’s weekly inflow.
Artificial intelligence followed closely, securing $30.4 million across five deals. AI infrastructure platform Simplismart led the category with a $14 million Series B round, while enterprise application layer Live2.ai raised $13.7 million in Pre-Series B funding.
Advanced hardware and deeptech setups saw steady activity, securing $6.8 million across five deals. This included space tech platform Manastu Space ($2.3 million) and semiconductor startup Nova Spectral AI ($2.2 million). Enterprise services closed three deals worth $9.5 million, anchored by CapGrid’s $5.2 million Pre-Series B.
Indian Startups Funding In Oct; E-Commerce Leads Sector Charts
Early-stage venture funds took center stage on the investor front. Blume Ventures and Antler emerged as the most active backers this week, participating in three startup funding rounds each.
Blume led healthcare diagnostic startup CentHealthtech’s $15 million Series A alongside South Park Commons, backed ecommerce brand Rotoris ($8.5 million), and joined AI platform QwikBuild’s pre-seed round. Antler added gaming platform dubdub, D2C brand ReplyAll, and hyperlocal service setup Maasi to its portfolio.
The public markets and fund formation landscape also saw notable developments. SEBI approved appliance maker Atomberg’s proposed ₹450 crore IPO, which features a ₹450 crore fresh issue alongside an offer-for-sale component of up to 7.65 crore shares.
Edtech platform Imarticus Learning is preparing to file its DRHP via the confidential pre-filing route, expanding its target IPO size to ₹1,000 crore from an earlier ₹750 crore target.
Meanwhile, Unacademy co-founders Gaurav Munjal and Roman Saini announced plans to launch Longshot Capital, a ₹700 crore venture fund targeting early-stage AI and deeptech startups.
Strategic consolidation and pipeline dealmaking continued to move parallel to fresh check-writing. Nasdaq-listed Freshworks acquired Israeli AI platform Robusta Dev to strengthen its IT service management capabilities on Freshservice.
Cybersecurity firm Protectt.ai acquired a controlling stake in AIShield, an AI security provider incubated at Bosch Global Software Technologies, with Bosch retaining a minority stake.
On the late-stage fundraising front, Sarvam AI is in discussions to secure ~$300 million from IT services giant Cognizant at a valuation between $3.5 billion and $4 billion, while space tech builder Parsec Aerospace is negotiating a $10 million round led by Nexus Venture Partners.
