In a surprise development, Gaurav Gupta, the top honcho of food tech platform Zomato has decided to leave the company, according Zomato post.
Gaurav is Zomato Ltd’s co-founder and head of supply, is leaving the firm after six years, the company said in a blog post on Tuesday.
Gupta, who joined Zomato in 2015 was elevated as Chief Operating Officer in 2018 and as the founder in 2019. He was the face of the company in the run up to the IPO, leading discussions with investors and the media.
Gaurav Gupta‘s exit comes days after Zomato exited its grocery delivery and Nutraceutical business.

“There’s so much of our journey still ahead of us, and I am thankful that we have a great team and leadership to carry us forward,” Deepinder Goyal, co-founder of Zomato said, confirming the development.
