April 20, 2024: To boost voter awareness and raise voter participation in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Let’sVote, a pioneering nonprofit Civil Society Organization dedicated to raise voter awareness and participation, hosted a 10 K Democracy run with LB Nagar Runners, a dynamic subgroup of the renowned Hyderabad Runners Society, which drew wide attention, and appreciation amongst the communities the runners passed during the run. The voting is scheduled in Telangana on May 13, 2024.
The event kicked off with a signature campaign launch at Mansoorabad Pedda Cheruvu at 6:30 am, today, drawing the participation of enthusiastic citizens and runners alike. Embarking on a route that traversed various residential colonies including Bhavani Nagar, Saraswati Nagar, and Aditya Nagar, the runners steered through the streets of Mansoorabad Chowrastha, SouthEnd Park, GSI, Bandlaguda, and Anand Nagar before culminating at the Ajanta Ace gated community to address the residence.
The spirited runners were joined by residents along the route, with close to 2000 individuals stopping to learn about the significance of voting and cheering on the participants. Despite the summer rains, the runners remained undeterred, fuelled by the energy of the community’s support.
Covering key areas such as Nagole, Sai Nagar, Rock Town Colony, and Mansoorabad village, the runners dispersed to invigorate the democratic spirit as Telangana approaches election day. The event concluded with a collective “Pledge to Vote” by both the runners and participants, symbolizing their commitment to democratic participation.
Let’sVote to conduct a series of democracy run across communities to raise voter awareness
Additionally, Let’sVote and LB Nagar Runner volunteers engaged over 500 walkers at Mansoorabad Pedda Cheruvu and 200+ community members at Ajanta Ace through similar awareness campaigns.
