The longest-reigning queen in British history, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away on Thursday in Balmoral. Age-wise, she was 96. On September 19, there will be a funeral for her.
Queen’s son Charles III will be formally proclaimed as King at the Accession Council at 10 am local time on Saturday in the State Apartments of St. James’s Palace, Buckingham Palace has said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs declared one-day State Mourning on September 11 as a mark of respect for the demise of the queen Elizabeth.
The Queen Elizabeth coffin will be transferred from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster via a ceremonial route through London, which is dubbed as ‘Operation Lion’. A memorial service will take place at Westminster Hall upon the arrival of the body.
King Charles III on Friday expressed his love for hisson and daughter-in-law Harry and Meghan in his address. “I want also toexpress my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their livesoverseas,” the king said, despite their rift with the royal family.
In his first speech as Britain’s new monarch, King Charles III said he feels “profound sorrow” at the death of his mother, and vowed to continue queen’s “lifelong service”. “Queen Elizabeth was a life well lived; a promise with destiny kept and she is mourned most deeply in her passing. That promise of lifelong service I renew to you all today,” said her son and successor in his maiden televised address as King.
He thanked his”darling mama” for the “love, affection, guidance and example” she showed. “I pay tribute to my mother’s memory, and I honour her life of service. I know that her death brings sadness to so many, and I share that sense of loss beyond measure with you all,” the 73-year-old King said.
Britain’s King Charles on Friday bestowed the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales on his eldest son William and daughter-in-law Kate, passing on the titles that he and his late wife Diana previously held.

UK Prime Minister Liz Truss said that the death of Queen Elizabeth II has caused a “heartfelt outpouring of grief” around the world.
British High Commissioner to India, Alex Ellis mourned the demise of Queen Elizabeth II. “She led an exemplary life of strength, duty, hardwork and dignity. It’s a sad day but also a day to give thanks for a long life well lived to service of others,” he said.
