August 30, 2025: In an age where OTT platforms are in a race to personalize content for millions of viewers, JioHotstar has taken a bold step to not only curate what you watch but how you interact with it. During the recent Reliance Industries’ 48th Annual General Meeting, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, unveiled a host of AI-driven features designed to make the streaming experience more intuitive, immersive, and tailored to local preferences.

With over 600 million users and 300 million paying subscribers, JioHotstar has cemented its position as the second-largest streaming platform in the world. Now, it’s making waves again, with the launch of four game-changing features, Riya, Voice Print, JioLenZ, and MaxView 3.0. These features leverage artificial intelligence to streamline content discovery, language barriers, user interfaces, and even sport-specific viewing experiences.

JioHotstar: The AI-Powered Features Shaping the Future of Streaming

Riya: Your Personal Voice Assistant for Effortless Streaming

Riya, an AI-powered voice assistant, is a game changer when it comes to content discovery. Forget typing or scrolling through endless lists of movies and shows, simply speak your mind. Riya understands context and intent, which means you don’t have to search for exact titles. For example, you can say, “Play the episode where the train scene happens” or “Show me Kohli’s last century,” and Riya will find it for you, even if it’s buried in multiple seasons or episodes.

According to Ambani, “Riya is built for the way you think and speak,” addressing the challenge of navigating through an overwhelming sea of content. No more endless searching; just speak your mind and let Riya curate it for you.

Voice Print: Stars Speaking Your Language, In Their Own Voice

Voice Print brings a groundbreaking development to dubbing. This AI-based feature uses voice cloning technology to allow content to be dubbed in any Indian language while retaining the original actor’s voice and facial expressions. Gone are the days when dubbed voices never quite matched the actor’s expressions. With Voice Print, users will get the true feel of a scene with the original voice in a different language, paired with perfect lip-sync.

Ambani emphasized that “with AI voice cloning and lip-sync technology, your favorite stars will not just get dubbed; they will speak in your language with their own voice, and the lips will match perfectly.”

JioLenZ: Your Content, Your Way

JioLenZ is a visual personalization feature that allows you to control how content appears on your screen. It adapts based on your preferences and the device you are using. Want to watch a cricket match with live scores, language switches, and commentary pop-ups? JioLenZ makes it all possible in just one click. It dynamically adjusts the interface to suit your personal viewing needs.

“The JioLenZ feature adapts to your personal preferences in a single click,” said Ambani. Whether it’s your mobile, tablet, or smart TV, JioLenZ ensures that you get the best view with just a tap.

MaxView 3.0: Cricket, But Mobile-First

For cricket fans, MaxView 3.0 promises an enhanced mobile viewing experience. Designed for the way people naturally hold their phones, this feature allows you to swipe through key features such as live scorecards, camera angles, and instant highlights, all without interrupting the match. The system pre-loads alternate angles and clips in the background to ensure real-time responsiveness.

“This mobile-first cricket experience has been designed around the way you hold your phone,” said Ambani. “It’s more immersive, more intuitive, and closer to the action than ever before.”

The Future of Streaming: Seamless, Personal, and Localized

JioHotstar’s latest innovations are more than just feature upgrades. They represent a massive shift in how streaming platforms think about user access, inclusivity, and localization. The platform’s use of AI focuses on the specifics of India’s diverse population, ensuring that viewers get a hyper-personalized experience, be it through voice, language, or visuals.

With these features, JioHotstar is not just adapting to the current OTT landscape; it’s reshaping it entirely. These AI-driven tools are designed to break down barriers in language, device compatibility, and content discovery, making streaming smarter, faster, and more immersive.
