Bengaluru, October 27, 2025: Even as its digital release approaches, Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 remains a top draw in cinemas across India. The film, directed by Rishab Shetty, has amassed ₹590.76 crore domestically over 26 days, with global earnings reportedly crossing ₹800 crore. The makers have now confirmed its OTT premiere on Amazon Prime Video, scheduled for October 31.
Dual Momentum: Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office and Streaming
The film’s fourth weekend added ₹25.5 crore to its tally, with steady growth across Friday (₹6.1 crore), Saturday (₹9 crore), and Sunday (₹10.4 crore). The Hindi version contributed ₹11.95 crore, while the original Kannada version brought in ₹8.2 crore during the same period.
Despite the upcoming digital release, theatre occupancy remains strong, reflecting continued audience interest. Kantara Chapter 1 will be available to stream in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.

Kantara: Chapter 1 explores the Daiva Kola tradition in pre-colonial India, following the journey of Berme, a tribal leader who defends his community’s beliefs. The cast includes Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Pramodh Shetty, with music by Ajaneesh Loknath.
