May 11: 2024: Bollywood superstar Kareena Kapoor Khan’s 2021 pregnancy memoir, “Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible,” has found itself in an unexpected spotlight. The book, which chronicles Kareena’s personal experiences with pregnancy and offers advice for expectant mothers, has been challenged in the Madhya Pradesh High Court due to its title.
Advocate Christopher Anthony filed a petition arguing that the use of the word “Bible” in the title disrespects the religious sentiments of the Christian community. He claims a holy book like the Bible shouldn’t be compared to a personal account of pregnancy. The petition further alleges that the title is a cheap publicity stunt.
Releasing the book in 2021 on he insta she wrote : This has been quite the journey… both my pregnancies and writing my Pregnancy Bible. There were good days and bad days; some days I was raring to go to work and others where I struggled to get out of bed. This book is a very personal account of what I experienced both physically and emotionally through both my pregnancies.

In many ways, this book is like my third child… from conception to its birth today. Published by @juggernaut.in and the amazing @chikisarkar, I’m proud to share that my Pregnancy Bible is vetted and approved by FOGSI, India’s official body of gynecologists and obstetricians, along with the help of several expert voices like @rujuta.diwekar, Dr. Sonali Gupta, and Dr. Prabha Chandra of NIMHANS.
I’m both excited and nervous to share this with you. The pre-order link is in my bio.
Despite the controversy, “Pregnancy Bible” offers valuable insights for expecting mothers. Co-authored with Aditi Shah Bhimjani, the book delves into various aspects of pregnancy, from preconception planning to navigating trimesters, childbirth, and postpartum care. It features expert advice from nutritionists, fitness experts, and pediatricians, providing a holistic approach to pregnancy wellness.
Kareena, a celebrated actress known for her outspoken nature, is yet to respond to the court notice. The legal battle’s outcome could set a precedent for celebrity memoirs and the use of potentially sensitive terminology in titles.
