July 7, 2025: In a twist that could shake up Bollywood fans and spark a box office frenzy, Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly making a powerful return to the ‘Don’ universe—this time in a surprise cameo.
As Don 3 gears up for its 2026 release, the buzz around Ranveer Singh taking over the titular role from Shah Rukh Khan continues to divide fans. But behind the scenes, producers are reportedly planning a cinematic masterstroke. Sources close to the film have revealed that Farhan Akhtar, who returns to direct the third installment, has approached SRK for a special appearance that could redefine the franchise’s future.
Don 3 Set for Explosive Cameos: Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra May Return
While official details remain under wraps, industry insiders suggest that Shah Rukh has agreed to appear in the film after a detailed narration by Akhtar. If confirmed, this will mark the first time Ranveer Singh and Shah Rukh Khan share the screen—an on-screen moment that’s sure to grab attention.
But that’s not all. There’s another major development that fans of the original series won’t want to miss. Actress Priyanka Chopra, who played the iconic role of Roma in Don and Don 2, is also rumoured to be in talks for a return. If she reprises her role, Don 3 could bring back the original dynamic, blended with a new-age twist.
The film also stars Kiara Advani as the new female lead, introducing fresh energy to the action-packed franchise. Meanwhile, director Farhan Akhtar has been working on his own project, 120 Bahadur, where he portrays Param Vir Chakra awardee Major Shaitan Singh. That war film is set to release in November 2025.
Now, with all creative and logistical hurdles cleared, Don 3 is finally ready for takeoff. Shooting begins in January 2026, with a theatrical release planned for December 2026.
