In a grand ceremony held today, the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, inaugurated the majestic Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, a monumental structure that stands as a testament to architectural brilliance and grandeur.
The inauguration coincides the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti and his birthday. PM Modi also launched a new scheme ‘PM Vishwakarma’ on Sunday in New Delhi.
Yashobhoomi International Convention Center developed at a cost of approximately Rs 5,400 crore and sprawling across a vast project area of more than 8.9 lakh square metres, this center promises to redefine the landscape of conventions and events in the country.
The inauguration ceremony was a momentous occasion attended by dignitaries, government officials, and representatives from various sectors. The Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, situated in the heart of the city, is poised to become a hub for national and international events, setting new standards in terms of scale and sophistication.
A day before the inauguration, Modi hailed the Yashobhoomi as synonymous with sustainability. “It has a modern wastewater treatment system, there are provisions for rainwater harvesting and the complex has received Platinum certification from Indian Green Building Council,” he posted on X(formerly Twitter.)
This sprawling convention center boasts 15 convention rooms, each equipped with state-of-the-art technology and seating arrangements to accommodate a diverse range of events. Additionally, it features a grand ballroom that can host extravagant galas, weddings, and award ceremonies, setting the stage for unforgettable moments. Moreover, the facility offers 13 meeting rooms, designed to facilitate corporate meetings, seminars, and conferences.
The Yashobhoomi Convention Centre’s architecture is a blend of modern aesthetics and cultural heritage, incorporating intricate designs that pay homage to the rich history of the region. The exterior showcases a fusion of contemporary and traditional elements, making it a visual marvel.

- The Convention center has a total built up area of more than 1.8 lakh square metres
The convention centre is set to find its place among the world’s largest meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) facilities
It is built across more than 73 thousand square metres of area
The convention centre comprises 15 convention rooms including the main auditorium and the grand ballroom
Its plenary hall is equipped with a seating capacity of around 6,000 guests
The grand ballroom can host around 2,500 guests, with an extended open area capable of seating up to 500 people
The convention centre houses one of the largest exhibition halls in the world
The exhibition halls are built across over 1.07 lakh square metres of area suitable for hosting exhibitions, trade fairs and business events
The ‘convention centre is equipped with a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment system boasting 100 per cent wastewater reuse and provisions of rainwater harvesting - The complex has an underground car parking facility with a capacity of more than 3,000 cars and more than 100 electric charging points
