New Zealand vs Pakistan Match brought a stunning display of batting prowess by Black Caps. The final outcome, New Zealand beat Pakistan by 45 runs in Dunedin for the third T20 of their five-match series. Finn Allen hit a world record 16 sixes in his innings which is now the highest by a Kiwi batter in the T20s. The Kiwis take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series. The win follows comfortable victories in Auckland and Hamilton.

In the first innings, New Zealand scored 224/7 in 20.0 overs with Finn Allen scoring 137(62) and Tim Seifert 31(23). Pakistan’s Haris Rauf took 2 wickets for 60 runs and Mohammad Wasim took 1 wicket for 35 runs.

In the second innings, Pakistan scored 179/7 in 20.0 overs with Babar Azam scoring 58(37) and Mohammad Nawaz 28(15). New Zealand’s Tim Southee took 2 wickets for 29 runs and Mitchell Santner took 1 wicket for 26 runs.

Allen shattered a 12-year-old record held by former captain Brendon McCullum to register the highest score by a Kiwi in T20Is. His century helped the BlackCaps post 224 for 7 in the first innings before the hosts restricted Pakistan to 179 for 7, winning the third T20I by 45 runs.

Batting first, New Zealand got off to a positive start before Haris Rauf sent opener Devon Conway back in the pavilion. However, Allen’s heroics helped the hosts post a mammoth total on the board. Pakistan tried to chase the target but couldn’t guide their team over the line. The visitors managed to score 179 for 7 in 20 overs, falling 45 runs short of the target.

With this win, New Zealand sealed the five-match T20I series, having gone 3-0 up. The two sides will now lock horns at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Friday, January 19, in the fourth match of the series.
