Globally, WHO says as of 4:12pm CEST, 25 June 2021, there have been 179,686,071 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 3,899,172 deaths, reported to WHO . As of 23 June 2021, a total of 2,624,733,776 vaccine doses have been administered.
In India, PM Modi said on Sunday that the government is satisfied with the pace of the vaccination drive in India and added that in order to keep the ball rolling, there is a need to involve other organizations as well as NGOs for expansion of inoculation against Covid-19 infection in the country.
The centre, on Saturday, has also told the apex court in India that by the end of this year, the country is expected to get 188 crore vaccine doses from five manufacturers. This is believed to fully vaccinate 94 crore population in the country that is above the age of 18 years.
Meanwhile, as the national capital reports the lowest single-day cases since May 1, the state government is opening up gyms and banquet halls to host marriages. The cap set by the government for marriage events is 50. Gyms will also function at 50 per cent capacity.
