Anant Ambani, the youngest son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita, has announced his engagement to Radhika Merchant, the daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant.
The couple’s roka ceremony, a traditional engagement ceremony in Hindu culture, took place in the presence of family and friends and was blessed by temple priests. The ceremony marks the beginning of the couple’s journey towards marriage, although a date has not yet been announced.
Both Anant and Radhika have strong educational backgrounds, with Anant studying at Brown University in the United States and Radhika earning a bachelor’s degree in politics and economics from New York University.
Anant is being groomed to take over the energy business of his father’s conglomerate, Reliance Industries, and is currently a member of the boards of Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail Ventures.
Radhika, who was raised in Mumbai, is a trained classical dancer and serves as a director on the board of Encore Healthcare. She is also known for her passion for animal welfare and is actively involved in animal welfare causes.

Radhika Merchant is a trained Classical Dancer
Radhika Merchant comes from a well-educated and accomplished family, with her father serving as the CEO of Encore Healthcare and her mother, Shaila Merchant, being a successful businesswoman in her own right. Radhika received her dance training from Guru Bhavana Thakar at Shree Nibha Arts and is also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.
The Ambanis have three children – twins Akash and Isha, and Anant. Their daughter Isha married Anand Piramal, the heir to the Piramal Group, in 2018, and the couple recently welcomed twins, Aadiya and Krishna. Their son Akash married Shloka Mehta, the daughter of diamantaire Russell Mehta, in 2019, and the couple has a two-year-old son named Prithvi.
The Ambanis are known for their close-knit family and it is clear that the upcoming marriage of Anant and Radhika Merchant will be a joyous occasion for the entire family. Both families have requested the blessings and good wishes of everyone as they begin this new chapter in their lives.
