Paytm ONDC's Rs 70/Kg Tomato Deal: Big Relief for Buyers : Only for Delhi NCR region
SHARE

In the wake of an unprecedented tomato crisis in India, where prices have reached an alarming high of up to Rs 250 per kilogram, consumers in Delhi-NCR can now breathe a sigh of relief, thanks to a groundbreaking initiative by Paytm and ONDC.

The price surge in tomatoes was triggered by a combination of factors such as delayed monsoons, heavy rains, and reduced supply. Households were feeling the pinch of soaring prices, as the kitchen essential became a luxury for many. However, Paytm E-commerce Private Limited and ONDC decided to step in and ease the burden on consumers.

Through a strategic collaboration with the National Cooperative Consumers Federation of India (NCCF), Paytm ONDC is now offering tomatoes at an affordable rate of Rs 70 per kilogram. Users in Delhi-NCR can avail themselves of this exclusive offer, which comes with the added benefit of free delivery.

To ensure fairness and widespread access, users are limited to purchasing a maximum of two kilograms of tomatoes at Rs 140 per week through the ONDC platform. This move aims to stabilize the tomato market and offer consumers some respite from exorbitant prices.

Tomatoes becomes affordable in Delhi NCR

A spokesperson from Paytm E-commerce Private Limited emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “The rising prices of a kitchen essential like tomato has been affecting many across the country. With this collaboration between NCCF and ONDC, our users in Delhi NCR can now easily get tomatoes at affordable prices.”

The convenience of purchasing tomatoes through Paytm’s user-friendly app is an added advantage. Users simply need to search for “ONDC” in the app and tap on the “ONDC Food” result. From there, they can select “Tomatoes from NCCF,” choose the desired quantity, provide their delivery address, and complete the payment process. It’s that simple!

Furthermore, this initiative is aligned with the government-backed ONDC’s mission to democratize the e-commerce landscape in India. Since its launch, ONDC has expanded its reach to various cities, including Delhi-NCR, providing a wide array of products across categories like Food & Beverage, Grocery, Home & Kitchen, Fashion, Electronics, Health & Wellness, and Beauty & Personal care.

With Paytm and ONDC’s thoughtful intervention, consumers in Delhi-NCR can now enjoy fresh and affordable tomatoes, and the companies have hinted at the possibility of even lower prices in the future, subject to NCCF’s directives.

In these challenging times, this partnership exemplifies the power of innovation and collective efforts to address pressing issues faced by the community. The availability of tomatoes at Rs 70 per kilogram is indeed a much-needed ray of hope for consumers, promising to bring back smiles to households across the region.
