It was a terrific day for China (BAO Shanju / ZHONG Tianshi) have broken the world and Olympic record in the women’s team sprint with a rapid 31.804 time.

The WR (32.034) was actually slower than the OR (31.928), because the cycling governing body UCI never ratified the Rio 2016 Olympic record of China as a world record.

China and Germany will contest for gold and silver; ROC and Netherlands for bronze.
