Japan to Welcome COVAXIN Jabbed Travelers from April 10, 2022

COVAXIN Jabbed who were worried to know if Japan will allow entry can now relax as Japan has recognized India`s COVID-19 vaccine COVAXIN manufactured by Bharat Biotech with effect from April 10 to further facilitate travel from India to Japan. The Indian Embassy in Japan on Thursday (April 7) clarified the same.

Taking to Twitter, the Embassy wrote, “Government of Japan includes the indigenously developed and manufactured COVID-19 vaccine COVAXIN by Bharat Biotech of India, as one of the recognised vaccines for 1st and 2nd dose with effect from 10 April 2022 to further facilitate travel from India to Japan.”

India also has arrangements with various countries for the mutual recognition of vaccination certificates, and there is no cause for worry for those who were vaccinated with Covaxin, an official from the MEA said.

The Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday (April 7, 2022) said that the World Health Organization’s (WHO) suspension of Covaxin supply through UN procurement agencies over “process and facility upgrade” requirements will not have an impact on travel by those who have taken the Covid-19 vaccine.

MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, while answering a question, informed that in terms of their travel, the vaccine continues to be recognized under the emergency use listing of WHO and various countries have already accepted it.
