‘Bulli Bai‘ app case accused Niraj Bishnoi and ‘Sulli Deals‘ app creator Omkareshwar Thakur on Monday was granted bail by a Delhi High Court on humanitarian grounds.

The court considered that the accused are first time offenders and continued incarceration would be detrimental to their overall wellbeing.

In July 2021, an app called ‘Sulli Deals’ was discovered by Twitter users. The app had the tagline ‘Sulli deal of the day’ and published photographs of Muslim women without their consent. It encourages users to participate in an ‘auction’ of the women.

‘Sulli’ is a derogatory term used against women.
