Indians Vaccinated with COVAXIN can now visit 7 countries. India’s indigenously developed COVAXIN acceptance in other countries is a matter of time. Covaxin also awaits WHO approval. But Indians who are looking to travel on vacation or business we list below the countries that accept the desi vaccine. While it is good to note from this list, some countries may not have air-bubble flights and visas may be tough to come by:
1 ) Sri Lanka
India’s close neighbor has opened up borders for the country. Both Covishield and Covaxin are accepted by the country. Once you arrive, you will need to present a negative PCR test result that is less than 72 hours old and then get retested at the airport. You will have to remain in quarantine until you receive the test results. Unvaccinated travellers will need to undergo a 14 day quarantine before they explore the country.
For more information, check the travel alerts on the Srilankan Airlines website.
2 ) Iran
Iran is another country that is accepting Covaxin. Indians travelling to Iran must have their vaccination certificate and their negative RT-PCR test report of less than 96 hours in hand. If the test reports are not available, the individual would undergo quarantine for 14 days. Some people might even get retested on arrival and would have to be isolated till they get their test results. For more information, check this website.
3 ) Greece
As Indians arrive in Greece, they must present one of the three—a vaccination certificate with either vaccine, a negative PCR test less than 72 hours old or a negative antigen test less than 48 hours old. On arrival, they will be tested and screened again. No isolation is required unless you test positive during the on-arrival test.

4 ) Estonia
Although it hasn’t resumed issuing fresh visas, Estonia has opened their doors for fully-vaccinated Indians with a valid Schengen visa. Any individual with both doses of either of the Indian vaccines can enter the country and skip the testing and quarantine mandates. Estonia was one of the first countries to recognize Covaxin. At present, unvaccinated Indians can enter the country only for essential reasons. For more information, visit the Estonia Embassy website.
5 ) Nepal
Indians with complete vaccination certificates of either Indian vaccine do not get complete relief from quarantine, their self-isolation period is reduced to 7 days. Others must undergo a 10 day quarantine with RT-PCR tests on days 7 and 11. All passengers must present a negative RT-PCR test on arrival as well. This test must have been conducted no more than 72 hours before the flight.
