Karni Sena Chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, officially the National President of Karni Sena, was reportedly shot dead in Jaipur, Rajasthan on December 5, 2023.
The incident took place in his home, where he was attacked by three assailants on a scooter who opened fire at him. The attack also left his companion, Ajit Singh, seriously injured.
Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the leader of the right-wing Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, was killed by some men who had visited him at his Jaipur home and had tea with him. The horrifying video of the crime showed the killers sitting next to him and then suddenly shooting him, leaving him no chance to escape. He was hit by at least five bullets at point-blank range, with the last one in his head.
The CCTV footage showed the fringe group karni sena chief checking his phone when the men opposite him got up and opened fire. One of his security personnel tried to intervene but was also shot by the assailants. Police said that the attackers had spent at least 10 minutes with Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi before killing him.
Reports suggests, the attack happened at Gogamedi’s residence in Jaipur around 12:30 pm today. He and two of his companions were injured and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police said one of the assailants, who was not visible in the footage, died in the exchange of fire. The other two escaped on a bike that they snatched from two men at gunpoint.
Rohit Godara Kapurisr, a member of the Goldy Brar gang, admitted to killing Gogamedi in a Facebook post. He said Gogamedi was “on the side of our foes” and that was the reason for the attack.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack The police have launched an investigation into the matter and are currently on the lookout for the suspects.
