July 7, 2025: On its launch day, Panchayat 4 trended in over 42 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and the UAE. In India, it has stayed at the top of the Prime Video trending list since release.. The popular series Panchayat has truly made a strong comeback with its fourth season on Amazon Prime Video. The show released on June 24 and has already broken previous records, becoming the most-watched season in the franchise so far.
Prime Video confirmed that Season 5 is already in development and will release in 2026. The announcement was made on their official Instagram page with the message: “Hi 5 👋 Phulera wapas aane ki taiyyaari shuru kar lijiye,” encouraging fans to get ready for the next chapter.
According to Amazon, Panchayat Season 4 was streamed in more than 180 countries during its first week. This makes it one of the most widely viewed Indian shows on the platform globally. The success of the season shows how stories set in rural India are now connecting with audiences far beyond the country’s borders.
Manish Menghani, Director and Head of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, said the team is thrilled by the response and that the show’s simplicity, characters, and cultural setting have made it a hit worldwide. He confirmed that work has already started on Season 5.
Vijay Koshy, President of The Viral Fever (TVF), which produces the show, also shared that the journey of Panchayat has been special. He thanked the cast, crew, and fans for their support and said the show is a celebration of rural life and storytelling.
Panchayat is written by Chandan Kumar and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Akshat Vijaywargiya. The cast includes Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Sanvikaa, Durgesh Kumar, and others. It continues to tell the story of the village of Phulera and its everyday challenges, seen through the eyes of a young government employee posted there.
With Season 5 confirmed, fans can look forward to more from Phulera in 2026.
