December 21, 2025: Dhurandhar is proving to be unstoppable at the box office, continuing its strong run weeks after release. The Ranveer Singh starrer, directed by Aditya Dhar, premiered in theatres on December 5 and has already crossed the ₹500 crore mark in India, achieving the feat in just 15 days.
Jio Studios, the film’s producers, confirmed the milestone on social media, sharing that Dhurandhar collected ₹23.70 crore on Friday alone, pushing its total domestic collection to ₹503.20 crore. The announcement called it a historic moment for Hindi cinema, as no Hindi film has reached ₹500 crore this quickly before.
Previously, films like Jawan and Stree 2 had set high benchmarks, with Jawan reaching ₹500 crore in 18 days and Stree 2 in 22 days. While Pushpa 2: The Rule crossed ₹500 crore faster, it was a Telugu-language pan-India release. With Dhurandhar, a Hindi-language film has now taken the spotlight.
The movie tells the story of Hamza, played by Ranveer Singh, an Indian operative infiltrating dangerous networks in Karachi. Inspired by real-life events such as the 2001 Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the film blends high-stakes espionage with a gripping narrative. Veteran actors including Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan round out the cast.

Experts say the film’s success is driven by several factors. Its chapter-based storytelling appeals to audiences familiar with streaming shows, making it easy to follow. The soundtrack, featuring hits by Diljit Dosanjh and Hanumankind, has gained popularity independently of the film. Meanwhile, the action sequences, stylishly shot, deliver intensity without overwhelming the audience.
Another key factor is the film’s organic growth. Unlike heavily marketed releases, Dhurandhar relied on strong word-of-mouth and audience discovery, similar to this year’s surprise hit Saiyaara. This approach has helped the film maintain steady collections long after release.
With the ₹500 crore mark already crossed and its run continuing strong, Dhurandhar is now firmly positioned as one of the fastest and most successful Hindi films of recent times.
