Google Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 smartphones owners have a good news today. Google has stated that a new update that will enable 5G network for the Pixel 6a and the upcoming Pixel 7 smartphones will be released soon. The company has acknowledged that it is currently collaborating with the Indian telecom providers to enable 5G capability on its Pixel smartphones there.
“Pixel 7, 7 Pro and Pixel 6a are 5G capable devices. We are actively working with the Indian carriers to enable functionality at the earliest,” a Google spokesperson stated on Wednesday. Intriguingly, Google has not provided a specific timeframe for when these Pixel phones would be able to use 5G throughout the nation.
This year, Google introduced numerous Pixel smartphones in India, among them the mid-range Pixel 6a. With the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones, the business also unveiled its first Pixel flagships in the nation in three years.

The new Google Pixel 7 series is available in single 128GB storage options and has a starting price of Rs 59,999 in India. Starting on October 13, the Pixel 7 series will be sold in India.
On October 1, PM Modi announced the availability of 5G in India during the Indian Mobile Congress. Both Airtel and Jio have introduced their separate 5G services, which are currently only offered in a few cities.
Some of the handset manufacturers who have not yet updated their 5G-compatible products to work with the 5G networks in India include Google, Apple, and Samsung. These businesses were asked to respond by the Indian government, which appears to be what started this week’s string of comments from Apple and Google. Samsung is also anticipated to provide an update on the launch date of its 5G services in India.
Even though some of their models have not yet received the OTA update from the handset manufacturer that would allow 5G on their phones, brands like Xiaomi, Realme, and OnePlus, among others, have already started supporting 5G networks in India.
