New findings from Hylenr’s wider research programme point to potential applications in rare-earth and critical materials, industrial heat and future energy systems

Hyderabad, India, September 9, 2026: Hyderabad-based startup Hylenr Technologies has announced new experimental results from its hydrogen-based reactor technology, including unusual heat generation and signatures associated with rare-earth and other elements.

The multi-modal findings open a potential new technology pathway for producing critical materials while generating useful heat, at a time when countries and industries are seeking new sources of strategic materials and cleaner energy technologies.

Rare-earth elements are central to permanent magnets, electric vehicles, electronics, robotics, wind turbines, aerospace and defence systems. Their supply and processing are concentrated in a limited number of regions, making access to these materials an increasingly important strategic issue for countries such as India.

Hylenr Reports Signatures of 32 Elements, Including Rare Earths, in Hydrogen Reactor Tests

The study, “Nuclear Signatures in a Hydrogen-Loaded Ni–Pd Lattice Confinement System,” presented at the 27th International Conference on Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (ICCF-27) in Niagara Falls, Canada, held from August 31 to September 4, examined several questions around non-conventional nuclear processes occurring in hydrogen-loaded materials.

The ICCF study forms part of Hylenr Technologies wider research programme looking at heat generation, gas changes and the formation of new elements in hydrogen-loaded materials. Measurements showed increased signals associated with helium, neon and argon, while nitrogen, an indicator of atmospheric leakage, showed no corresponding increase.

Post-operation material analysis showed localized changes, including new surface structures and altered elemental distributions.

Across its wider materials research programme, Hylenr Technologies reports signatures associated with 32 elements, including lighter elements, heavier elements and rare-earth elements.

Hylenr Technology is moving into the next phase of testing, focusing on controlled reaction products, performance and scale-up. The company is advancing materials and isotope analysis to establish the origin of the elemental signatures and assess their potential for selected rare-earth and other critical materials.

The research comes as international scientists are taking a closer look at how metal environments can influence nuclear behaviour. A 2026 study published in Nature Communications reported unexpectedly high low-energy fusion yields in palladium and titanium hydrides, highlighting the influence of the surrounding metal environment.

HYLENR holds an Indian patent covering its low-energy nuclear reactor technology and has cited the grant as validating the inventiveness of its work.
