On October 17, Apple made a significant announcement, introducing the latest addition to its accessory lineup, the Apple Pencil with a USB Type-C connector. Named the Apple Pencil (USB-C), this new stylus is anticipated to arrive in the Indian market in November at a price of Rs 7,900.
Compatible with a range of iPad models equipped with a USB Type-C port, including the iPad 10th generation, sixth-generation iPad mini, iPad Air fourth-generation or later, as well as the iPad Pro (12.9-inch) third-generation or later, and all models of the 11-inch iPad Pro, the Pencil (USB-C) is expected to enhance the user experience for Apple’s tablet users.
Compared to its predecessors, the Apple Pencil (USB-C) comes with a magnet side, allowing it to attach seamlessly to iPads for convenient storage. Nevertheless, it lacks the wireless pairing and charging capabilities of the second-generation Pencil, requiring a USB-C cable for both charging and pairing.
Furthermore, the Pencil automatically enters sleep mode when magnetically attached to the iPad, conserving the battery life.
New Apple Pencil: Affordable, Performance, and Efficient Rich
Featuring Apple’s precision touch, low-latency input, and tilt sensitivity, the Pencil (USB-C) aims to offer a seamless and responsive drawing experience. Additionally, it supports the hover function on the iPad Pro, akin to the second-generation Apple Pencil.
However, it falls short in offering certain functionalities, such as pressure sensitivity, wireless pairing and charging, and the double-tap feature for tool changes, which are exclusive to the high-end Apple Pencil (second-generation).
The Apple Pencil with a USB-C connector will be available in India for Rs 7,900, with a special price of Rs 6,900 for the education sector.
Interested consumers can purchase the stylus from the Apple India online store and Apple retail stores starting early November, providing them with a new and enhanced tool for their creative endeavors.
