Hyderabad, July 23, 2026: Fintech infrastructure company VIYONA has secured approval to operate as a Customer Operating Unit (COU) under the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS), expanding its ability to provide digital bill payment infrastructure to banks, financial institutions, enterprises, and government organisations.

The approval allows the Hyderabad-based company to support BBPS-enabled bill payments across a range of categories, including electricity, water, gas, broadband, mobile recharges, DTH services, insurance premiums, loan EMIs, educational fees, and other approved billers.

The development comes as India’s digital payments ecosystem continues to mature beyond peer-to-peer transactions, with recurring bill payments emerging as a key component of the country’s digital financial infrastructure.

With BBPS COU capabilities, VIYONA’s partners including banks, NBFCs, fintech companies, enterprises, and government organisations can integrate bill payment services through a single platform, helping them offer secure and streamlined payment experiences to customers.

VIYONA’s Latest BBPS Milestone Signals Bigger Infrastructure Ambitions

“Digital payments have become an integral part of everyday life, and the demand for scalable, interoperable financial infrastructure continues to grow,” said Ravindranath Yarlagadda, Founder and CEO of VIYONA Fintech.

“With the BBPS COU certification, we are expanding our ability to help banks, fintechs, enterprises, and billers deliver seamless bill payment experiences at scale. For users, this translates into a more convenient, reliable, and trusted way to manage everyday payments.”

The latest certification adds to VIYONA’s expanding portfolio of NPCI-approved payment capabilities, which includes UPI Switch (Issuer and Acquirer), IMPS, Banking Connect, BOU, eKYC Setu, and BBPS COU. The company said the certifications strengthen its position as a payments technology provider serving banks, billers, and financial institutions across India.

Viyona’s Growing Focus on Agri Sector

As India’s digital economy scales, fintech innovation is increasingly shifting from consumer-facing applications to the technology infrastructure that enables financial institutions to launch new services.

Platforms capable of supporting multiple payment rails, regulatory standards, and digital public infrastructure are becoming critical for banks and enterprises seeking to accelerate digital adoption while reducing integration complexity.

VIYONA’s latest milestone reflects this broader trend. Rather than focusing solely on consumer payments, the company is expanding its infrastructure capabilities across payments, merchant solutions, financial services, and agritech, with an emphasis on connecting financial institutions, businesses, merchants, and agricultural stakeholders through a unified technology platform.

The company’s expanding NPCI certification portfolio positions it to participate in a growing segment of India’s fintech ecosystem, where infrastructure providers are playing an increasingly central role in enabling the next wave of digital financial services.
