Hyderabad, January 14, 2025: AM Green, a leader in green hydrogen and ammonia production, has entered a strategic partnership with global logistics giant DP World to enhance the export of green fuels. This new collaboration, announced in December 2024, aims to create a sustainable supply chain for green ammonia and methanol, with an ambitious goal of exporting 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of green fuels by 2030.
The pact will involve the development of critical logistics and storage infrastructure to facilitate the global movement of these sustainable fuels. AM Green, which is based in India, will leverage its renewable energy-driven production of green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol. These fuels are expected to play a significant role in the global transition to a low-carbon economy.
Key Aspects of the Pact:
- Global Export Infrastructure: The partnership includes developing port infrastructure across AM Green’s Net-Zero Industrial Clusters to support the export of 1MTPA of green ammonia and 1MTPA of green methanol to key global markets.
- Bunkering and Storage: The deal also involves creating bunkering infrastructure in strategic locations including Dubai, India, and Southeast Asia to ensure efficient green ammonia and methanol supply.
- European & UAE Terminals: Strategic terminal facilities will be established in the European Union, Far East, and UAE to streamline the zero-carbon supply chain, supporting global sustainability goals.
AM Green (AMG) is already on track with a 1MTPA green ammonia production plant in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, with several other projects in development across India, aiming to reach 5 MTPA of production by 2030. This ambitious target will contribute significantly to India’s net-zero targets and the global push for decarbonization.
AM Green and DP World Strategic Commitment to Clean Energy
Mahesh Kolli, Founder of Greenko Group and AM Green, expressed the company’s commitment to making India a green energy exporter. He highlighted the importance of the partnership with DP World in building world-class infrastructure for the global movement of sustainable fuels, reinforcing the role of green ammonia, methanol, and other clean energy solutions in reducing carbon footprints worldwide.
Yuvraj Narayan, Group Deputy CEO and CFO of DP World, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the logistics giant’s long-term commitment to sustainability. DP World’s expertise in trade and logistics will be crucial in ensuring that these green fuels are efficiently distributed across global markets, enabling a faster transition to a low-carbon economy.
The partnership between AMG and DP World marks a significant step forward in scaling up the production and distribution of green fuels, supporting the global shift toward sustainability and net-zero emissions.
