The New Pulse Behind India's Next 6,000 Tech Jobs

Tuesday, 16th June 2026: The race to build India’s next generation of tech hubs is no longer centred on traditional IT parks. The latest example comes from Telangana, where PULSUS Group has unveiled plans to accelerate expansion of its 35-acre Ameenpur campus, targeting 6,000 direct jobs and an estimated 30,000 indirect jobs as it develops what could become one of the state’s largest AI Healthcare and Digital Innovation hubs.

Increasingly, the focus is shifting towards specialised ecosystems where artificial intelligence, healthcare, research and digital services converge.

The announcement comes at a time when healthcare is emerging as one of the most promising applications of artificial intelligence globally. From clinical research and healthcare analytics to digital health infrastructure and medical data management, organisations are investing heavily in technologies capable of improving efficiency, accelerating research and supporting healthcare delivery at scale.

Against that backdrop, the Ameenpur expansion is less about a single campus and more about a broader shift taking place in India’s innovation economy.

For decades, technology investments were largely measured by the number of software jobs they created. Today, companies are increasingly seeking ecosystems that combine engineering talent with healthcare expertise, research capabilities and data science skills. The result is a new category of technology infrastructure built around industry-specific innovation rather than generic IT services.

PULSUS believes the Ameenpur AI Healthcare Tech Driven campus can play employment generation role

“The Ameenpur project, located near Miyapur, was envisioned as a hub for technology and employment generation. Despite delays caused by legal and regulatory challenges, we remained committed to this vision. With the project now gaining ITES-SEZ status, our goal is to accelerate efforts to establish one of Telangana’s leading AI Healthcare and Digital Innovation campuses, creating more than 6,000 high-quality jobs for engineers, healthcare professionals, researchers and digital specialists,” said Dr. Gedela Srinubabu, CEO of Pulsus Group.

The emphasis on engineers, researchers and healthcare professionals is significant because it reflects the changing nature of technology employment itself. As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in healthcare systems, demand is growing for professionals who can bridge both worlds. Software engineers alone are no longer enough. Companies are seeking healthcare data scientists, bioinformatics experts, clinical research specialists and AI professionals capable of working with complex medical datasets.

That trend is creating opportunities for states such as Telangana, which already possess strong foundations in technology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences and research. Industry analysts have increasingly pointed to the convergence of these sectors as the next chapter in Hyderabad’s growth story, with the city evolving from a technology destination into a broader knowledge economy.

The numbers behind the PULSUS expansion also reflect a growing confidence in this direction. Parliamentary records under the India BPO Promotion Scheme show that Omics International, part of the Pulsus Group, generated 2,836 direct jobs by March 2022 and achieved its target of creating 6,000 jobs in Visakhapatnam while supporting an estimated 30,000 indirect jobs. The company’s Ameenpur operations accounted for roughly 1,500 of those direct jobs, providing a foundation for the next phase of expansion.

More importantly, the company is positioning the campus as an ecosystem rather than a standalone office project. Plans include collaborations with universities, research institutions, healthcare organisations, startups and technology companies, reflecting a model increasingly seen in global innovation clusters where talent, research and commercialisation operate side by side.

The larger significance of the development lies in what it signals for India’s technology sector. The country’s first technology boom was built on IT services. The second was driven by startups and digital platforms. The next may be defined by specialised sectors where artificial intelligence is applied to industries such as healthcare, life sciences and scientific research.

If that shift continues, projects like Ameenpur may become less of an exception and more of a blueprint for where India’s next wave of high-value jobs, investment and innovation will emerge.
