RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat‘s remarks about DNA of all Indians is the same has not found favor with BSP supremo Mayawati, on Monday she as there is difference in what the Sangh Parivar, BJP and the government says as compared to their actions.

Speaking at a book launch event organised by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, the Muslim wing of the RSS, Bhagwat said the Sangh has always believed that the DNA of the people of India is the same and that both Hindus and Muslims are one entity.

“When people speak about the need for Hindu-Muslim unity, we say we are already one, we are not separate,” he said speaking at the launch of a book ‘The Meeting of Minds’ by Khwaja Ifteqar Ahmed in Ghaziabad.

The RSS is the ideological fount of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has often been accused by its opponents of fostering majoritarianism. Bhagwat, for his part, defended the Sangh’s work as that of uniting people of different faiths. He said such work cannot be left to political parties.

“RSS chief Bhagwat’s remarks that the DNA of all Indians is the same and violence is against Hindutva at a programme in Ghaziabad on Sunday is not going down well as there is a difference in the words and actions of the Sangh, BJP and the government that is there for everyone to see,” Mayawati said in a statement in Hindi here.

Expressing his views Asaduddin Owaisi in his statement to ANI said, I want to ask him (Mohan Bhagwat) if he has accepted that the majority community has been radicalized due to RSS & Hindutva ideology? Is RSS & Hindutva ideology not responsible for radicalization?: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on RSS Chief  Bhagwat’s remark on lynching

RSS chief’s statement was like “Muh me Ram, bagal me chhuri”, a Hindi proverb that roughly translates to showing a two-faced nature. Bhagwat according to he is hinting that country’s politics is divisive which according to her is not right.

Mayawati went on to state it is the result of the blind support of RSS to BJP and its governments that the poison of casteism, political hatred and communal violence is plaguing normal life. The BSP president said Bhagwat had said “big things” in his statement in Ghaziabad.

“Without the cooperation and support of the RSS, the existence of the BJP is nothing. Why is the RSS not able to get what it wants implemented by the BJP and its governments?” she added.

In his address at an event ‘Hindustan First Hindustani Best’ organised by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch in Ghaziabad on Sunday, Bhagwat had said that the DNA of all Indians is the same and those asking Muslims to leave the country cannot call themselves Hindus.
