December 3, 2025: India’s batting maestro Virat Kohli continues to redefine consistency and excellence on the cricket field. In the second ODI against South Africa at Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Kohli struck his 53rd ODI century, marking his 100th fifty-plus score on home soil. This rare achievement places him alongside legends Sachin Tendulkar (112), Ricky Ponting (106), and Jacques Kallis (106) in the elite club of players with 100+ fifty-plus scores at home.

Virat Kohli’s innings of 102 runs off 93 balls, decorated with seven boundaries and two sixes, came after his 135-run knock in the series opener at Ranchi. This was the 11th time in his ODI career that he has scored consecutive centuries, showcasing his remarkable ability to sustain form under pressure.

7 Fours, 2 Sixes: Virat Kohli’s Raipur Masterclass

Walking in early after Rohit Sharma’s dismissal, Virat Kohli built a monumental 195-run partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad, who celebrated his maiden ODI century with a blistering 105 off 83 balls. Their stand not only stabilized India’s innings but also highlighted Kohli’s adaptability in guiding younger teammates through crucial phases.

With this century, Kohli’s tally in international cricket climbs to 84 centuries overall (30 in Tests, 53 in ODIs, and one in T20Is). His consistency at home has been a cornerstone of India’s dominance, making him a symbol of reliability for over a decade.

This milestone further cements Kohli’s reputation as one of cricket’s greatest modern-day icons. His ability to deliver in high-stakes matches continues to inspire fans and teammates alike, ensuring his legacy remains untouchable.
