    Olympics 2020 Results: Japan wins First Gold

    Japan’s TAKATO Naohisa and Chinese Taipei’s YANG Yung Wei are deep into golden score in the final of the men’s -60kg category at Olympics 2020 which is being held in Tokyo

    And Yang has been called for a third shido (penalty) – for defensive posture – which means Takato has won Japan’s first gold medal of the Games!

    The bronze medals go to Yeldos Smetov (KAZ) and Luka Mkheidze (FRA).

    Wongpattanakit wins women’s -49kg taekwondo at Olympics 2020

    This final is intriguing. Thailand’s Panipak Wongpattanakit against 17-year-old Adriana Cerezo of Spain.

    The Thai takes the second round by storm and rattles off 7 straight points. But in the third, Cerezo fights back to lead 10–9.

    Wongpattanakit gets a late score in! With just seconds to go, it’s two points and she will win this 11–10!

    Heartbreak for Cerezo but great sportsmanship as she raises her opponent’s arm in the air.

    Bronze medals went to Abishag Semberg (ISR) and Tijana Bogdanovic (SRB).

    Beach Volleyball – Olympics 2020 Results

    Rio 2016 gold medallist Laura Ludwig (GER), alongside new partner Margareta Kozuch (GER), suffered a loss in her first game in the women’s preliniary, losing by two sets to one to Nina Betschart and Tanja Huberli of Switzerland.

    World champions Pavan/Humana-Paredes (CAN) also defeated Stam/Schoon (NED) in straight sets.
