The Golden State Warriors will leave for Texas after finishing a six-game homestand, where they will play two games in two days. The Warriors’ road trip continues on Tuesday in Houston, where they will face a Rockets squad they last met on Jan. 21, when Stephen Curry hit a game-winning shot as time expired.
The win was the first of the Dubs’ current five-game winning run, and as they attempt to extend it, they’ll also be aiming for a season sweep of the Rockets, who they’ve beaten in their first two head-to-head meetings this season, both at Chase Center.
The Golden State Warriors: PREVIOUS TIME OUT
Klay Thompson made all three of his shot attempts in the fourth quarter, including a 3-pointer that put the Dubs up four with 12.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s 110-106 win over the Nets at Chase Center.
Andrew Wiggins had 24 points to lead the Dubs and Stephen Curry scored 14 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter as the Dubs picked up their fifth consecutive victory.
Draymond Green’s presence in the lineup has been sorely missed by the Warriors during the last three weeks. If there’s a silver lining to Green’s absence, it’s Otto Porter Jr.’s development. The veteran forward has started each of the Warriors’ previous five games, all of which have ended in victories, and he has been a reliable provider of offence throughout that time.
Porter has reached double figures in each of his previous five games, averaging 13.0 points on 59.5 percent shooting from the field and 45.0 percent on 3-pointers. Porter has been a force on both attack and defence, setting his career high with four blocks in Saturday’s win over Brooklyn. A 6-foot-8 forward capable of guarding numerous spots and scoring from the perimeter.
