Arpita Mukherjee is the new queen of Multi-Crore Scam in India. The recent raids by Enforcement Directorate (ED) agents in connection with the multicore teacher recruitment scam resulted in the recovery of an additional 28 crore in cash as well as 5kg of gold from her Belghoria apartment in North 24-Parganas, West Bengal.
On Thursday morning, the counting continued until 4am. Approximately 50 crore worth of cash has now been found from her home, according to the agency.
Arpita’s Belghoria apartment was searched by ED officials for 18 hours on Wednesday until this morning.

In a raid on an apartment belonging to Arpita Mukherjee, a close aide to the minister who used to be a model, the ED on Friday confiscated cash worth 21.9 crore, gold worth more than 70 lakh, and US currency worth more than 50 lakh. Arpita Mukherjee was later detained by the agency. The enormous sum of cash taken from Arpita Mukherjee’s home, according to the ED, was the result of a recruitment scam.
After questioning her, two apartments in Belghoria were raided earlier on Wednesday. One included gold and cash worth around 22 crore rupees. According to reports, Partha Chatterjee allegedly exploited her home as a “little bank.”
A close associate of Trinamool Congress leader and Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee, who was detained by the ED in the multimillion dollar money laundering case, Mukherjee’s apartment yielded at least ten trunks full of cash and jewellery, according to ANI.
In connection to the alleged irregularities at the hiring of hundreds of teachers and non-teaching employees in government institutions, Partha Chatterjee was detained. While the matter is currently being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation under the direction of the Calcutta High Court, ED filed two first information reports in June to track down the suspected money trail for the multi-crore scam involving Arpita Mukherjee.
