January 20, 2026: AM Group has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to build a 1 Gigawatt (GW) high-performance AI compute hub in Greater Noida, marking one of the largest AI infrastructure investments in India to date.
Backed by the founders of Greenko Group, AM Group plans to invest approximately USD 25 billion in the project, which will be developed in phases. The first tranche of capacity is expected to go live by 2028, with the full 1 GW facility targeted for completion by 2030.
The agreement was exchanged in the presence of senior officials from Invest UP and AM Group leadership at the World Economic Forum in Davos, underscoring Uttar Pradesh’s ambition to emerge as India’s premier AI and data center hub.
Once operational, the facility will house around 500,000 next-generation high-performance chipsets, positioning it among the world’s most powerful AI compute clusters. The hub will cater to global hyperscalers, frontier AI labs, enterprises, and India’s sovereign AI initiatives, offering large-scale, low-latency compute capacity powered entirely by 24/7 carbon-free energy.

AM Group said the project aligns with the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and represents a new model for sustainable AI infrastructure. Leveraging its deep expertise in renewable energy, AMG will integrate wind, solar, and pumped storage solutions to ensure round-the-clock green power.
A key pillar of the initiative is AMG AI Labs’ vision of democratizing AI, spanning the entire value chain, from efficient energy-driven “electron agents” to intelligent AI tokens that enable customized models and applications across sectors such as energy, healthcare, manufacturing, automotive, media, gaming, and sovereign cloud platforms.
The hub is also expected to provide broader access to advanced chipsets for India’s developer and research community, accelerating the creation of AI solution stacks for both domestic and global markets.
Beyond technology, the project is set to become a major economic catalyst, attracting foreign direct investment and generating thousands of high-skilled jobs while fostering a regional ecosystem for hardware manufacturing, software development, and advanced cooling technologies.
“The evolution of the global AI ecosystem, with intentionality, intelligence, and adaptability, will be pivotal for current and future generations,” said Anil Chalamalasetty, Group Chairman, AM Group.
“By combining 1 GW of compute capacity with 24/7 green power, we are creating a sustainable template for the future of global AI infrastructure,” added Mahesh Kolli, Group President, AM Group.
