August 21, 2026: Meta is launching a new three-month programme for 200 early-stage consumer startups in India, putting digital growth skills, agency expertise and investor access at the centre of its latest startup initiative.
India’s startup funding cycle may attract the headlines, but for many young consumer companies, the harder challenge begins after the first customers arrive: how to acquire more customers efficiently, build repeatable marketing systems and turn early traction into a scalable business.
Meta is looking to address that gap with Meta Startup School, a new programme designed to help early-stage consumer brands strengthen their digital growth capabilities and make greater use of Meta’s advertising and AI-powered tools.
The first cohort, beginning September 1, 2026, will include 200 startups across different funding stages. Over three months, founders will receive structured platform education, hands-on guidance and access to agency partners, venture capital firms and industry experts.
The programme signals a more hands-on approach from Meta towards India’s startup ecosystem. Instead of positioning platform access simply as a technology offering, Meta is bringing together the people and expertise that startups typically need as they move from experimentation to scale.
Beyond funding, startups need execution
For young consumer brands, raising capital is only one part of the growth equation. As customer acquisition becomes more competitive, founders need to understand where marketing budgets generate results, how campaigns can be improved and how digital channels can support revenue growth.
Meta says Startup School will focus on those practical challenges.
Participating startups will receive three months of complimentary consultation from agency partners, allowing them to work on their growth and advertising strategies without paying retainer fees.
They will also take part in webinars and structured learning sessions focused on Meta’s tools and solutions, including its AI-powered advertising capabilities.
The objective is not simply to teach startups how to use a platform, but to help them apply that knowledge to their businesses as they scale.
Meta Brings VCs, Agencies and 200 Startups Into New Programme
The programme will also bring investors into the mix.
Fireside Ventures, DSG Consumer Partners and V3 Ventures are participating in the first cohort, with Meta expecting more venture capital firms to join the programme over time.
That investor layer could be particularly useful for founders navigating the transition from early-stage experimentation to a more disciplined growth phase. Beyond potential fundraising conversations, engagement with investors can give startups insight into market positioning, consumer behaviour and the operating metrics that matter at scale.
The programme will culminate in a demo day, bringing participating startups together with venture capital firms, D2C founders and other ecosystem stakeholders.
Meta’s larger India startup play
Meta’s move comes as digital platforms become increasingly embedded in the growth strategies of Indian consumer startups. For brands that depend heavily on online discovery and customer acquisition, advertising technology, data and AI are becoming part of the core operating toolkit rather than simply marketing functions.
That creates an opportunity for Meta: helping startups become more sophisticated users of its ecosystem can potentially benefit both the businesses and the platform as those companies grow.
Gaurav Jeet Singh, Director for Agencies and VC Partnerships at Meta, said early-stage startups can benefit significantly from having the right tools, knowledge and guidance at a critical point in their journey.
The programme will focus on helping founders leverage Meta’s advertising and AI-powered tools while giving them access to agencies, investors and other industry specialists.
Who can apply?
The first cohort is aimed at early-stage consumer brands that are beginning to use Meta’s platforms to scale revenue.
Startups directly managed by Meta or already working with an agency will not be eligible. The programme is open across funding stages, with the emphasis placed on businesses that have moved beyond the idea stage and are beginning to build a scalable growth engine.
Applications for the inaugural cohort are open now.
