Gadkari Announces ₹3,000 FASTag Annual Pass for Private Vehicles for 200 Trips

New Delhi, June 18, 2025: In a major push towards hassle-free and cost-effective highway travel, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced today on X (formerly Twitter) the launch of a FASTag-based Annual Pass priced at just ₹3,000. This revolutionary pass, effective from August 15, 2025, is set to transform toll payments for private vehicles across India’s national highways.

According to Nitin Gadkari The Annual Pass, valid for one year from activation or up to 200 trips, whichever is earlier, is exclusively designed for non-commercial private vehicles, including cars, jeeps, and vans. It promises seamless travel without the repeated toll payment hassle that millions of private vehicle owners currently face.

Simplifying Toll Payments Across Highways

This new initiative targets long-standing issues around toll plazas situated within 60 kilometers of each other, a major source of congestion and traveler frustration. By enabling one affordable, all-inclusive FASTag pass, the government aims to reduce wait times, ease traffic jams, and minimize disputes at toll booths nationwide.

To activate or renew the pass, users will soon access a dedicated portal via the Rajmarg Yatra App and official websites of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), making the entire process smooth and user-friendly.
