Among the unique feature is the double-staged camera module featuring triple-camera lenses gives fresh air in a glut of vertical and diagonal camera placement designs. Overall, it is handy to use even for long hours despite having 195g of weight.

The Poco F4 5G is only the second F-series phone in the country to be powered by a flagship Qualcomm 800-series chipset. We take a look at what’s new, pricing in India and our quick first impressions of the device.

The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset this time around and has other flagship-grade specifications to go with it. These include a 6.67-inch 120H AMOLED display that can switch between 30Hz, 60Hz and 120Hz and comes with 360Hz touch sampling.

The display also has a peak brightness of 1300 nits and supports DCI-P3 colour gamut, along with support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The phone comes in multiple variants with either 6, 8 or 12GB RAM and 128 or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The phone has a 64MP primary camera with OIS along with an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP depth sensor on the back. There’s a 20MP single front camera. The Poco F4 5G also gets a 4,500mAh battery with support for 67W fast wired charging and 10W reverse wired charging. Poco F4 5G comparison to the Poco F1 from 2018 – The original device was launched with the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. But Poco’s F-series is no longer priced in the same range as the OnePlus series, which is a much more premium device in the market.

While the Poco F4 5G remains in the mid-range pricing (which we’re categorising somewhere between Rs 25k to Rs 35k), its specifications are not necessarily top-of-the-line. Still, that doesn’t mean this device represents some sort of compromise for the price.

For the eye, this is a good-looking phone. The Nebula Green has a muted tone, and the glass at the back gives this a premium finish. The Poco branding is subtle enough. It also has ‘5G’ written next to it, guess a reminder was needed for users.

The experience with the 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED display of Poco F4 has been smooth, which comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz of touch sampling. The display offers a rich viewing experience with its bright and sharp colours.

The display even manages to bring vivid colours under the bright sunlight with its 1300nits of peak brightness. It is certified with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ to let you enjoy the high quality content from the OTT platform

The front glass has Corning Gorilla Glass 5, so you are can be assured of some protection, at least. The frame on the side is polycarbonate. The triple camera module does remind me of the Redmi phones, which is not surprising given that Poco, Redmi and Xiaomi are one big family.

The only let down is that the phone’s back gets covered in smudges easily, and given the 6.67-inch screen size, this is a very tall device. In fact, it’s a little taller than iPhone 12 Pro Max, which has a 6.7-inch display.

The phone’s display is an AMOLED one and one can crank up the refresh rate to 120 Hz. There’s no headphone jack here, for those wondering. Poco is also skimping out on expandable storage. The maximum onboard storage offered is 256GB.

Poco’s phone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor.

After testing the camera, the results are pleasing and the images look striking. The colours are vibrant– at least on the phone’s AMOLED screen– and the photos are accurate when it comes to details and colours. This camera should keep most users very happy.

What does concern about the Poco F4 5G is the 4500 mAh battery size. This might end up being a compromise for some heavy-duty users, though Poco is bundling a 67W fast charger here.

    Where to buy it?

We’re bringing the POCO F4 5G revolution at a special price of Rs. 23,999/- for 6/128, Rs. 25,999/- for 8/128 and the 12/256 version is available at Rs. 29,999*/-. The sale starts on 27/06/2022 on @Flipkart

To sum up, the Poco F4 5G looks an enticing buy, due to its pleaaing design and camera. Performance should eventually meet the expectations, given the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 is a tried and tested chipset.
