In a grand gesture commemorating the 394th birth anniversary of the iconic Indian ruler Shivaji, Jio Studios and the acclaimed actors Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh’s Mumbai Film Company have unveiled their much-anticipated collaboration on the epic biopic “Raja Shivaji.”
This announcement comes mere days after Sandeep Singh’s “The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj” was revealed, underscoring the enduring legacy and widespread reverence for the legendary leader.
The film, set to be a bilingual marvel in Marathi and Hindi, promises to encapsulate the remarkable journey of the young Shivaji, who valiantly opposed prevailing powers and ascended to the illustrious title of Chhatrapati, or monarch. Riteish Deshmukh, renowned for his multifaceted talent, will not only direct but also portray the titular role, following his remarkable debut as a director and actor in the 2022 blockbuster “Ved.”
