France have beaten the ROC in five sets to win their first ever gold medal! This its the first all-European final in men’s volleyball at the Olympic Games since 2000.

What an unbelievable tournament for France, who battled their way to their first ever final after only winning two of their five preliminary round matches at Tokyo 2020, including a 3-1 win over ROC.
They led 2-0 in the gold medal game before the ROC came storming back to win the following two sets to set up a grandstand finish.
In the fifth and final set, France kept their cool to win 15-12 and claim the gold at Tokyo 2020 .
