A historic moment for the first-ever 3×3 basketball at the Olympics 2020, for both men and woman it turned out to be most enthralling contest. The winner of the first-ever turned to be Latvia.

A back-and-forth contest between ROC and Latvia, one worthy of a gold medal game, ends with a game-winning two-point bucket from Karlis Lasmanis (LAT) to give Latvia a 21-18 win and its first medal of any colour at Tokyo 2020 – and its gold!

Meanwhile, Top seed MOMOTA Kento (JPN) was eliminated.

There is a big upset in the men’s singles badminton tournament. Playing a winner-take-all group match, top seed and home favourite MOMOTA Kento of Japan has been knocked out in straight sets by HEO Kwanghee (KOR).

Heo won 21–15 21–19 to top the group, and with only group winners qualifying, Momota’s run is over.
