Actor Salman Khan home faced a shocking incident today as two unidentified individuals, captured on CCTV, unleashed a flurry of gunshots outside the residence of Bollywood icon Salman Khan in Mumbai. Sources within the police department have revealed that the suspects are believed to hail from Gurugram, Haryana, and are allegedly affiliated with the notorious gang led by Lawrence Bishnoi.
One of the culprits, identified as Vishal, is purportedly linked to Rohit Godara, a notorious member of the Bishnoi gang notorious for his involvement in violent crimes. Police investigations have tied Vishal to the March murder of businessman Sachin Munjal in Gurugram. Meanwhile, Godara, currently residing overseas, reportedly confessed to Munjal’s killing via social media.
CCTV footage captured the two assailants wearing caps and carrying backpacks as they fired shots towards Khan’s residence. The suspects, one in a white t-shirt and black jacket with denim pants, and the other in a red t-shirt paired with denim, conducted a reconnaissance mission prior to the attack.
After abandoning their motorcycle getaway vehicle near Mount Mary Church in Bandra, the duo managed to evade capture by fleeing to Bandra railway station in a rickshaw. They are currently at large, with police recovering their two-wheeler a short distance from Khan’s home.
Fugitives at Large: Mumbai Police Launch Manhunt for Gangsters Who Targeted Salman Khan
In a chilling online post, Anmol Bishnoi, brother of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the attack, labeling it a “preview” and issuing a warning to the Bollywood star.
Reacting to the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reached out to Salman Khan, assuring him of unwavering support and a commitment to upholding the rule of law.
This is not the first time Khan has faced threats. Last year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed that the actor topped the list of targets marked for elimination by Lawrence Bishnoi. The gangster cited Khan’s 1998 black buck hunting incident as the reason, considering it an offense against the Bishnoi community.
Security around Salman Khan was previously heightened following a threat call in April of last year. A lookout circular was also issued against an Indian student in the United Kingdom for allegedly sending threatening emails to the actor.
As the investigation unfolds, the incident serves as a grim reminder of the persistent threats faced by high-profile figures and the ongoing battle against organized crime in India’s entertainment industry.
