In a momentous celebration of India’s vibrant democracy, a new chapter in numismatic history is unveiled as the Ministry of Finance introduces the remarkable ₹75 coin. Serving as a proud emblem of democracy, this extraordinary coin takes center stage, showcasing the iconic Parliament Complex in all its majestic grandeur.

A symbol of governance and the collective voice of the nation, the coin’s design pays homage to the remarkable institution that stands as a beacon of democratic principles. With the unveiling of the ₹75 coin, India rejoices in the fusion of artistry and political significance, immortalizing the architectural splendor and democratic heritage of the Parliament Complex for generations to come.

On a momentous Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a visionary leader known for his profound impact on the nation, will proudly unveil the commemorative coin. This symbolic gesture showcases the deep-rooted values and aspirations that have shaped India’s remarkable journey.

The new coin’s design reflects the essence of India’s rich heritage and democratic spirit. On one side, it proudly displays the revered Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar, standing as a symbol of wisdom and power. Below this magnificent emblem, the words “Satyamev Jayate” remind us of the eternal truth that justice and righteousness shall always prevail. To the left, the word “Bharat” in Devanagari script reaffirms the pride in our national identity, while “India” on the right echoes the country’s global presence.

New Parliament Complex and ₹75 Coin a historic moment for India

A splendid depiction of the parliament complex adorns the other side of the coin, a reminder of the heart of Indian democracy. The words “Sansad Sankul” in Devanagari script gracefully grace the upper periphery, emphasizing the sanctity of this revered institution, while “Parliament Complex” in English adds a touch of global recognition on the lower periphery.

Crafted meticulously, the circular coin boasts a diameter of 44 millimeters and 200 serrations along its edges, representing unity in diversity. Composed of a unique four-part alloy, including 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel, and 5% zinc, this masterpiece encapsulates the enduring spirit and strength of the Indian nation.

However, the inauguration of the new parliament building has not been without its fair share of controversy. While 25 parties are expected to grace the ceremony, at least 20 opposition parties have chosen to boycott the event, claiming a loss of democracy’s soul. The Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Left, Trinamool, and Samajwadi Party, among others, expressed their dissent, questioning the decision to inaugurate the building without the presence of President Droupadi Murmu.

In response to the opposition’s boycott, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) issued a sharp counter-attack, condemning the move as a blatant affront to democratic ethos and constitutional values.

Nonetheless, the launch of the ₹75 coin and the inauguration of the new parliament building stand as a testament to India’s remarkable journey as a sovereign nation. As the nation celebrates 75 years of independence, these historic events serve as a reminder of the indomitable spirit and unity that have shaped India into the great nation it is today.
