In a significant breakthrough in the investigation of Karni Sena Chief Gogamedi a collaborative effort between the Delhi Police Crime Branch and the Rajasthan Police has resulted in the arrest of three men, including two alleged shooters. The arrests has unfolded a chain of events leading to the killing of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the chief of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena.
The arrested individuals, Rohit Rathore and Nitin Fauji, hailing from Jaipur and Mahendragarh respectively, were apprehended from Chandigarh’s Sector 22. Accompanying them was their associate Udham Singh, who was also taken into custody during the operation.
Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was fatally shot in his Jaipur residence on December 5. The assailants, captured on CCTV, were seen carrying out the attack.
Following the identification of the alleged killers, a substantial cash reward of ₹5 lakh was announced by the police for any information leading to their arrest.
The detained suspects for the killing of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi are slated to be handed over to the Jaipur police for further interrogation. To aid in their capture, a specialized 11-member investigation team was constituted by the Rajasthan Police.
Additionally, the investigation has led to the arrest of another individual, Ramveer Jat, in Jaipur. He stands accused of orchestrating the contract killing of Gogamedi. Ramveer reportedly facilitated the groundwork for Fauji in Jaipur before the fatal incident occurred.
Intrigue and Friendship: Arrests Shed New Light on Gogamedi’s Assassination
Providing insight into the relationship between the suspects, Additional Police Commissioner of Jaipur, Kailash Chandra Bishnoi, detailed their background. Ramveer and Fauji were close friends from neighboring villages and attended school together. While Fauji pursued a career in the Indian Army after Class 12, Ramveer pursued higher education, culminating in an MSc. in Mathematics.
Bishnoi revealed that Fauji, involved in an altercation with Mahendragarh Police on November 9, absconded thereafter. During this period, he dispatched Ramveer to Jaipur on November 19.
