After an explosive opening at ₹40 crore on Friday, the film’s collections continued to surge, reaching ₹51 crore on Sunday. While Monday saw a slight dip with ₹38.7 crore, the celluloid juggernaut bounced back with a staggering ₹55 crore on Independence Day. As per early estimates reported by Sacnilk.com, “Gadar 2” has amassed around ₹263.48 crore domestically.
Industry insiders and trade analysts are now speculating whether the film could dethrone this year’s blockbuster “Pathaan.” Expressing his optimism, film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi shared, “Going by the trajectory it’s on, Gadar 2 can possibly beat not just Pathaan, but any record there is. It’s absolutely on a rampage right now. What you witnessed in cinemas on August 15 across India is absolutely historic.”

An emotional Sunny Deol revealed his feelings at a press conference, sharing, “I was quite stressed before the release of the movie. When the movie was released, I cried and laughed the entire night. My father was around and he saw me. I told him, ‘I have not had alcohol. Main khush aa main ki kara (I am happy, what can I do)’.”
Directed by Anil Sharma, “Gadar 2” serves as a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster. The original movie depicted Sunny Deol as Tara Singh, a truck driver, and Ameesha Patel as Sakina, during the tumultuous partition of India in 1947. In the sequel set in 1971, Tara Singh embarks on a daring mission into Pakistan to rescue his son, portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma.
