Ahmedabad, October 8, 2025: Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has etched his name into cricket history by becoming the first player to score a century and take four wickets in a Test match four times after turning 30. This feat surpasses a 69-year-old record previously held by Vinoo Mankad.
In the recently concluded Test against the West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Jadeja delivered a commanding performance, scoring an unbeaten 104 and claiming 4 wickets for 54 runs. His efforts played a pivotal role in India’s innings and 140-run victory.
This marks Ravindra Jadeja’s second such performance in 2025, following his century and four-wicket haul against England in Manchester earlier this year. With this achievement, he joins Ian Botham and Ravichandran Ashwin in the elite club of players who have accomplished this double multiple times. Only Botham has done it more often, with five instances to his name.
Jadeja Nears 4000-Run, 300-Wicket Milestone
Jadeja also became the oldest cricketer to record two century-plus-four-wicket performances in a single calendar year, surpassing Musthaq Mohammad’s record set over five decades ago.
He is now just 10 runs shy of reaching another milestone, becoming the fourth player in Test history to score 4000 runs and take 300 wickets, alongside Kapil Dev, Ian Botham, and Daniel Vettori.
Jadeja’s consistent contributions continue to shape India’s success in the longest format of the game, reinforcing his role as a dependable all-rounder.
